Coaching is Goal Setting and Goal Getting!
Coaching, whether it is focused on Life issues or Spiritual issues invites people to engage in a process of identifying our values, our dreams, our hopes and our fears in order to help us create and achieve goals that enhance our lives. Along the way people discover the inner resources they have that can help them meet their new goals. Becoming aware of our own roadblocks that prevent us from moving forward allows us to improvise ways of overpowering the obstacles we encounter as we choose to grow.
The Rev. Dr. Carl R. Gillett is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ. In addition to his degrees in counseling and ministry, he is trained as a coach. He received training through the Fowler Wainwright Institute in Life Coaching and Spiritual Coaching. He has also trained in Subconscious Restructuring Coaching with Kelly Burris, Ph.D. at Burris Institute. Dr. Gillett has been involved in exploring mind-body issues through the Mind-Body Institute at Harvard University and has accumulated a variety of training experiences in hypnosis. He is a member of the Institute of Coaching, which is supported by McLean Hospital and Harvard University. Most recently he completed the training to become a Certified mBIT Coach which enables him to offer coaching using the tools developed by Grant Soosalu and Marvin Oka.
